I like the story of Zaccheus because it is the gospel in a few verses:

1. Man is sinner
2. Man realises sin
3. Man goes to Jesus
4. Jesus responds to man
5. Man enjoys Jesus
6. Man reacts to Jesus by making amends

This re-enforces the belong/believe/behave model by the way.
